Privacy Policy

I think that privacy is a good thing. I’m a privacy advocate. In general, I don’t want to know any more about you than I have to. This privacy policy details what information I collect.

My web server logs showing what IP address accessed what page, and when. I use this information to compile aggregate statistics about accesses to my web pages. These statistics help me to understand how my site is used and make decisions about how to maintain and evolve it. These logs may aid me in the event of security problems. I don’t share these logs with anyone else or sell any information obtained from them.

If you want to comment, you’ll have to sign up for an account. I have to require this to try to cut back on spam. If you sign up for an account, I collect your name, email address and web site. I have no idea if you lie about your name web site, and in fact the only reason I ask for them is that Wordpress asks for them.

Wordpress uses a web browser “cookie” in order to save a small amount of information on your computer. This facilitates providing you with a better browsing experience. Without this cookie, Wordpress would have no way of knowing that you were you when you go from page to page.

This is the only information about you that I collect. I do, however, use third party services such as Google Analytics, Google Adwords, and Amazon.com’s affiliate program, all of which may collect and use information, and which I have absolutely no control over.

I never sell or share email addresses.

If your use of this site is abusive - if you attempt to spam it or crack it or otherwise subvert it - then I make no representation about how I will use any information about you that I can gather. I will treat you with the same level of respect that you treat me.
