Color and Web Pages
I’m in the process of redesigning the theme on the Apocalypse Blog and I’ve been stuck on the colors. I know the basic color scheme I want to use…red, orange, black… alarming colors… apocalyptic colors. I used them in the original theme. I’ve been running into a lot of issues, though - for instance, it seems like the only thing that looks good on red is black. Other colors are just… dim. So I shouldn’t be using black for section headers, although it does look very dramatic and apocalyptic.
The new theme is based on the theme I’ve used here and on Shiny Things. I have a whole list of things I need to do so that I can make the theme portable between blogs without editing the theme itself. That’s for later, though. For now I just need to get the revamp for the apocablog finished. And the colors have been killing me.
Fortunately, Download Squad just ran an article with pointers to some web sites that are all about color, which I’m sharing with you below. Hopefully with their help I’ll sort out the color issues and get this next bit of work done.
